I must admit about the ONLY thing that was "right" about this is that YASMEEN was #1. Why, You ask... I'll tell you because when one walks down the runway... IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU " the model"... IT'S ABOUT THE CLOTHES!!! How one walks to SHOWCASE the CLOTHES!!! "supermodel"s these days are ALWAYS about themselves. TRUE FASHION is about clothes and how THEY make is feel and a TRUE MODEL can convey that!

No girl worked harder in the '70s than Cheryl Tiegs -- not to mention her poster, along with Farrah's, gave even het boys the world over an inkling of the living power of Beauty-- An impossible task given how many worthy contenders exist, and then there's the confusing separation between mass media (print, tv, film) & the inner sanctum of the catwalk where avatars of the Goddess truly come to life-- To my taste, I'd say no one expressed the vitality of the Living Goddess more than Pat Cleveland; while the most exquisite flourishes of grace are exemplified by Dalma Callado, Anna Bayle & Sonia Cole -- and the most powerful overall, possessing not only the perfect drape-line for haute couture but whose mindboggling biomechanical prowess turns the "catwalk" from metaphor to mysterious force of nature: Yasmeen Ghauri--

Shalom Harlow #1 for me.

Shalom was offered to be VS model, but she refused because she felt uncomfortable with the brand and the way it portrayed women. She didn't see herself as a bombshell type of model, but more classic haute couture. She mentioned this in her IG finally landing an ad with the newly redirected VS. Glad to hear VS pay their dues to their older models, by rehiring them for jobs. Four years ago, the OG VS Angels Helena Christensen and Daniela Pestova were hired for an ad. Then, last year, Gisele, Adriana, and Candice, plus Naomi did the ads for the 2023 VS tour, which sadly the show turned out to be terrible and a flop. Hopefully 2024 will be better. Word on the street is that Tyra may be walking the 2024 show. Hopefully we get to see Stephanie Seymour, Karen Mulder, Yasmeen Ghauri, Eva Herzigova, Famke Janssen, Heather Stewart Whyte, Frederique van der Wal.

80% of these girls are top models, here’s some supermodels who never walked for VS: Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Tatjana Patitz, Yasmin le Bon, Nadja Auermann, Kristen Mcmenamy, Kate Moss.

Honestly no models need to have necessarily been in VS, and I dont think its a barometer for success. There are plenty of models whom I dont consider to have the same career highs as those who have never walked. Before social media, and even to the present, widespread recognition by the general public does not equate to status or demand in the fashion world. There are definitely models who have walked whom I wouldn’t think of/should have, but Tanya D, Soo Joo Park, Lily Cole, Mariacarla, Ai, and Devon don’t come across as VS girls to me. Jessica Miller, Bar, Lineisy, Natalia Semanova, Liisa, Vlada, and especially Shalom I am pretty surprised about. Daria and Natalia are surprising to an extent that they are both Top 5 models of that decade so were obviously in high demand. However Natalia kind of fits the first group where I wouldn’t think of them as a VS girl (even just one that walks occasionally), and Daria famously was offered the contract but didn’t take it, because she walks her own path (so interesting to think of a future where Daria left high fashion like Karolina did, both of whom are icons of that specific time in the modeling world)
